The United States Postal Service is no longer reporting service alerts related to the California wildfires. However, delays are highly likely as cleanup efforts continue to repair the 245,000 acres and estimated 8,900 structures that were destroyed. Toxic ash and debris pose additional risks during cleanup.

CNBC reports that 8,400 structures have been lost in California’s wine country wildfires and that the blazes are at 90% containment.

Several massive wildfires are burning in Napa and Sonoma, destroying thousands of buildings and forcing the evacuation of an estimated 20,000 people. California’s fire chief says at least 1,500 homes and commercial buildings have been destroyed by the fires that threaten thousands more homes in northern California, according to the Associated Press.
The fire, which ignited around 10 p.m Sunday, October 8, exploded from 200 acres to more than 68 square miles by noon Monday, October 9, moving at 50 miles per hour.
Logistics partners are reporting anticipated delays of 12 – 36 hours for shipments both destined to and traveling through the Napa Valley area.
