As of Wednesday evening, the Camp Fire has scorched 216 square miles and remained 35 percent contained. The fire is also the most destructive fire on record, burning an estimated 10,300 structures, including more than 8,000 homes, according to Cal Fire.

A statewide public health emergency was declared due to the aggressive California wildfires that have persisted for a week. On both ends of the Golden State, weary crews continue to work tirelessly to contain two massive wildfires.

Current Alerts

Malibu District

The Point Dume Post Office, 29160 Heathercliff Rd., Fl. 1, 90265, remains closed after wildfires in the area. Customers of this office will no longer be served by the Colony Post Office. Beginning Dec. 10, customers can pick up their mail at the following alternate location:

  • Agoura Hills Post Office, 5158 Clareton Dr., 91301. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Starting Dec. 10, DDU shippers for the Point Dume Post Office will no longer drop shipments at the Colony Post Office. DDU shippers are advised to drop shipments at the Agoura Hills Post Office. Hours are 12 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sacramento District

The following Post Office is closed due to snow and road closures:

  • El Portal, 5508 Foresta Rd., CA 95318-9998

The following Post Offices remain closed:

  • Magalia, 14146 Skyway, CA 95954-9998
  • Stirling City, 16939 Skyway, CA 95978-9998
  • Paradise, 6469 Clark Rd, CA 95969-9998

Customers may pick up their mail at the following alternate location:

  • Chico Midtown, 141 W 5th Street, CA 95928 (Hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Los Angeles District

Due to wildfires and road closures, the following Post Offices are closed and inaccessible:

  • Point Dume, 29160 Heathercliff Rd Fl 1, CA 90265-9993

Customers of the Point Dume Post Office may pick up their mail at the following alternate location.

  • Colony Station Post Office, 23648 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265

Starting Monday, Dec. 2, the Colony Post Office will begin accepting DDU shipments. Mailers are advised the  dock height is 29 inches, there is a turning radius of only 26 feet and to use trucks with a lift gate to assist with unloads.

San Diego District

Carlsbad Main Post Office, 92008 — There are impacts to some services due to a partial roof collapse at the facility. Delivery is not affected. All retail, BMEU and caller service transactions, as well as PO Box mail, will be available at the La Costa Post Office, 1700 Aviara Pkwy., Carlsbad, 92011.

Effective Dec. 8, all DDU shipments for the Carlsbad Main Post Office are directed to the San Peak Annex (dropship hours: 3 a.m. to 7 p.m.), 760 Shadowridge Dr., Vista, 92083.
